While I enjoy mocking Tory MPs for their ignorance on matters of poverty, there are ways to help that go beyond a quote tweet. Emmaus Bolton, a food bank near me not only help families to feed themselves but provide support for families and train homeless people skills to help them get back on their feet.
I grew up in a poor household, despite my parents working harder than they really should have. The same can be said today, for far too many of us.
Will buying a tshirt fix this? no. But for some people, turning up to the foodbank and having options beyond beans and cornflakes, it makes all the difference.
