Inspired to raise funds and awareness for the great battle of our time - mental health - we have been compelled to find Purpose through Adventure. In today’s world, we are so connected digitally that we become isolated physically; moving through life glued to a device, lonely. .
Who
- I’m a Royal Marines Commando and Special Forces medic. Following a medical discharge from military service I experienced the detrimental effects of living without direction and decided to find new Purpose through Adventure. - My brother is a great storyteller, distinguished history academic and rugged traveller. Together we wish to share the stories of the past and present, combined with our own story and interactions. &nbps;
Why
Many people feel purposeless and disconnected. We combined our passions of Magic, History, Adventure and Motorbikes as our way of finding Purpose through Adventure. Now we want to use our journeys, as a platform to help inspire others. We will be raising funds and awareness for Reorg and Rock2Recovery, two charities set up to help those struggling with mental health. In a world obsessed with the “quick-fix” and “short-cut” to happiness, we have forged a different mentality. Humans have powerful inbuilt reward systems fuelled by progress and achievement that cannot be stimulated by jumping straight to the end. It is the journey, the progression, the hardship and the accomplishment which give the sense of purpose and completion that so many of us are struggling to find. The Motorbike is the epitome of this mentality; it is not the destination, but the ride we live for.
What
- I’m also a professional Magician and wish to share the power of Magic with those we meet. I saw first hand how it could lift my fellow soldiers from dark places and allow them to experience astonishment for a lasting moment. Our first adventure will take us into the colourful and fascinating chaos of India and snow-clad passes of the Himalayas, where we will perform the Highest Magic Trick in the World. - Together we’ll travel wild, live simply, cross countries and continents telling the stories of the past and present, and sharing the wonder and disbelief of magic.
It will be an adventure of Magic, Myths and Motorbikes.
