I took inspiration from the idea of nurturing and growing as in the plant world, which is already a powerful symbol of mental health awareness, I thought about the idea of a blooming head of a woman. It takes time, a lot of effort and the strength to overcome all the prejudices related to the need of mental support and ask for it, it’s still more difficult in younger age and it’s a very sensitive matter in parenting. As a traditional tattooist I take inspiration from the original sketches from the fifties, but I’m also influenced by the movie’s illustrations and banner from the ‘60/‘70 and the elegant volute of the victorian illustrations, which I tried to put in this artwork
