UNITY is a collaborative project between SEASON zine and eight football creatives celebrating what UNITY in the game means to them.
Texas Maragh is a London-based graphic designer with experience working in print, digital design, illustration, branding and animation. She gains inspiration and influences from contemporary culture and the urban environment. Her work is framed around communication and aims to engage people in a playful interactive experience. Texas is also a keen footballer and co-founded a womxn's grassroots football team, Club Local, which has regular Sundays kick-abouts and competes in the Super 5 League.
‘The idea behind my design was to encourage grassroots football teams to unite together. To help the efforts to flatten the curve and remind teams that we are all in this together. To do this, I wanted to play on the “Keep Off the Grass" signs grassroots teams often encounter when trying to find space to play football in a city like London. The smiley face and big bold type bring the positive vibes and pay homage to my football team, Club Local. Finally, the line “Until Further Notice” reminds players that it's not forever, we will play again. See you on the grass.’ Texas Maragh
