UNITY is a collaborative project between SEASON zine and eight football creatives celebrating what UNITY in the game means to them.
SEASON is a trailblazing football and fashion platform that launched in London in 2016 to counter the male, pale and sometimes stale state of modern football culture. A cross between a football fanzine and fashion magazine spanning biannual print issues and original stickers, events, social media, a podcast, and a monthly newsletter, the evolving interplay between football, fashion and personal style is also explored.
We tell stories that showcase, celebrate and empower female fans authentically, while unpacking important issues, emphasising diversity and collaborating with exciting creative talent.
‘The particular photograph we chose was taken by Elliot James Kennedy in Lyon during our issue 07 cover shoot last year. Reminiscent of the FIFA World Cup Trophy, the hand holding the ball, cradling the world so to speak, could be anyone’s. It’s intended to be a powerful statement about how football unites the world, overcoming all barriers and earthly differences. The quote underneath ‘Together we rise’ is just the truth.
