growing up were u made to feel insecure about parts of urself?
was ur hair different? were u bigger or smaller than the others around u? was it hard to understand how to play? maybe ur skin was a different colour. did u grow up in an environment that constantly reminded u that u were ‘other’?
were u shamed for things that u couldnt change?
maybe u were too much this or not enough that according to ur family, ur friends, society or the medias expectations. maybe u were made to feel alone and that u deserved it.
those things mattered a lot when u were a child, when u were bullied. children and young adults need to feel safe and acceptance in their environment or it can seriously damage their perception of who they are and how they exist in relation to the world.
im here to say, no one cares, in the most positive and affirming way possible. if people devalue u because of ur skin colour, size, race, hair texture, cellulite, scars, gender, sexuality, neurodivergency then they are the problem, not u. only small, close minded and cruel people would use the things that make u who u are to hurt u, spread hatred and make u feel like u dont belong.
as adults, lets do the work to leave all that shame behind and be free in ourselves.
as adults, we can chose to be around ppl who show love and acceptance of us wholly for who we are and what we represent.
no one (thats worth any of ur time and energy in this life) cares. be free.
