An online and offline exhibition of work by 1st year students on the BA Illustration at Birmingham City University
With the title motivated by the tyranny of video calling and the invisibility of mental health issues, the work documents their collective experience of the COVID pandemic and details personal insights, circumstances, and events that have shaped the last year of their lives.
The work on display shows a piece of work from every student on the course. However, due to social distancing rules, they have never all been together in the same space at one time, so this show represents them as a collective whole. Full exhibition of works please her over to;

Materials delivered through a set of workshops and investigations that included creative thinking methods, animation and iterative processes, but students also considered how they could support the broader community within Birmingham.
Discussions often considered the challenges to individuals mental health and wellbeing during the pandemic, and thus, students collaboratively selected the charity Birmingham Mind as a partner for the work.
25% of any profits from the print sales will go directly to Mental Health UK and 50% directly to Birmingham Mind.
