Beneath Clouded Hills is an exhibition by Verity Birt and Una Hamilton Helle at Bloc Projects in Sheffield. Summoning Albion, the text is designed in William Blake's handwriting from his visionary work Jerusalem.
Questioning post-Brexit nationalism and nostalgia, Beneath Clouded Hills explores an earthy and eerie ‘England’ that removes itself from more idyllic tropes of green, rolling hills bathed in eternal summer. How do such mytho-pastoral images resonate today? Is there scope to reimagine our landscapes, turn them into more inclusive and radically open possibilities?
Funds from the sales of these T-shirts go towards supporting the exhibition and programme of events. 5% will be donated to the Woodland Trust.
