Tacugama T-Shirts for Sierra Leone

On August 14th 2017 a landslide on Sugarloaf Mountain in the village of Regent in Sierra Leone claimed over 500 lives, with hundreds more still unaccounted for. The Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary is located nearby this village. Fortunately staff and chimps are all safe, however some staff have lost members of their families in this tragic event. Two schools, SAIOS and Logos Experimentos, have been directly affected by this tragedy. Tacugama's educational program, TKEEP, is working with these schools and is devastated to learn that at least 25 kids have died from Logos Academy, below is a photo of these kids from one of our programs this year. Tacugama is on the ground since the first day providing milk and breakfast to the displaced victims and attending meetings regarding relief coordination. The Saio School Relief Center is currently home to over 450 displaced landslide victims, but the numbers are increasing every day. Tacugama remains committed to brightening everyone’s day and making sure no one goes hungry due to gaps. Mama Salone is how affectionately Sierra Leone is known because it welcomes warmly all visitors. We are raising money to help the children and their families directly affected by this landslide through this limited edition t-shirts. Thanks to Xavi Millan, an artist who kindly has donated the drawings he painted when he visited SL, and to Pemi and Yasmina, a long time supporters of Tacugama, who have created this beautiful limited edition design.
