BAD APPLES

When fruit started rotting on the fields, the bad apples became essential workers.

They were the ones stealing jobs, lowering wages, living on benefits and putting pressure on the NHS. Following the Brexit vote, laws were being prepared to keep them out of the UK.

Yet at the peak of the Covid pandemic, when all borders were closed, special flights were arranged to bring Eastern European workers back in.

The 'Bad Apples' campaign focuses on the contribution of the so-called 'low skilled' workers from Eastern Europe who power the UK's construction, agriculture and food industries.

It celebrates their efforts, encouraging anyone who has been an outsider to claim their role in society and have their voice heard.
