"The world has erupted in protests during a deadly pandemic, angry about the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and so many more who've lost their lives prematurely. We are tired of seeing black people being killed by the hands of the same people who are supposed to protect us. We are frustrated, upset, and constantly feel helpless...
A lot of my white friends have asked what can we do? I've said there are strength and unity in numbers and I truly believe it. If we are all as outraged by these events and voice the anger and frustration like our black brothers and sisters have been doing then that is step number one. I would ask that people educate themselves on systemic racism vs white privilege, don't expect black people to educate you. Look within before you look outward, realise that you want to do something about this system, and come at it with a sensitivity and understanding that you come from a privileged background whether you like it or not and finally donate to charity causes.
I am donating 100% of the profits of the sale of these long sleeve t-shirts to The Movement for Black Lives Fund who support Black-led rapid response efforts and long-term strategy, policy, and infrastructure investments in the movement ecosystem.
