The ANIMAI MUSIC tee is a collaboration between Keep on Keeping on Apparel and ANIMAI.
Animai is a female producer, songwriter, arranger and singer known for her collaborations with some of London's bass music scene's hierarchy including grime legend Flowdan, world renowned deep bass duo Truth and dubstep pioneer Youngsta. Several performances at Outlook Festival in Croatia as well as live PA's across the London club scene has allowed her to perfect her on-stage persona.
In 2020 her production talents received rave reviews from Dummy magazine, and Clash magazine. Robin Murray said "She adds lucid jazz tones to her crystalline electronics''.
Her sound is dark with powerful haunting vocals that express deep emotions but is contradictorily jazzy and melodic. Her visuals compliment this contrast from the utopian ideas of brutalist tower block architecture to an imaginary place before urban dreams evolved into dystopian nightmares.
The look of Animai’s logo nods to the tough inner city areas out of which bass music was born but borrows from new horizons in skate and surf culture. ‘Island’, her latest release felt like the perfect moment to create merchandise with this look, after all the closer we can feel to waves, oceans and freedom right now, the better!
